PACE Publicity Requirements

The AGD PACE logo is recognized by dental professionals throughout North America. Presence of the logo helps identify quality CDE; only providers that have the organizational structure and resources necessary to provide CE activities of acceptable educational quality can display the logo.

Including the AGD PACE logo on all forms of publicity makes it easy for AGD members to find courses that provide hours that can be applied towards their AGD Fellowship or Mastership awards. Most governmental regulatory agencies throughout North America also recognize PACE as the gold standard for ensuring CE providers are presenting quality dental education and require that dentists attend courses from PACE-approved providers to maintain their dental licenses.

Attendees’ expectations concerning course content are based on publicized information. Materials containing less than complete and accurate information will almost always result in disappointment and dissatisfaction on the part of all or some attendees. Complete and detailed publicity materials help assure that those who want and need the course will attend.

AGD PACE-approved providers are expected to provide complete and accurate information when publicizing their courses. Care must be taken to avoid misleading statements regarding the nature of the activity or the benefits to be derived from participation. In all cases, the name of the program provider, as well as of any co-program providers or agencies providing financial support, must be clearly stated. At minimum, all publicity pieces must include:

  • Course title
  • Description of course content
  • Educational objectives
  • Description of teaching methods to be used (lecture, participation, or self-instruction)          
  • Cost to attend the course
  • Name of the program provider(s) and contact person
  • Course instructor(s) and their qualifications
  • Refund and cancellation policies
  • Course location(s)
  • Course date(s)
  • Specifics as to approvals granted and credits available
  • Disclosure of agencies providing support
  • AGD PACE logo with current term of approval

Approved program providers must use the approved AGD PACE logo/brand with the appropriate credit statement in all the printed brochures and promotional materials for their educational program.
